Description
This whole class project, which requires group work, is a fun and exciting way to teach character themes, underscoring, the music of the medieval period and more. Based on the first Harry Potter film, students are divided into houses as they compete for the house cup. Through group activities in sorting, literacy, musical composition, analysis, aural and more, the groups gain points which go toward their house. There are individual roles that must be filled like the Music collector, Equipment hound and editor. There is even a quidditch match to undertake. All lesson plans, structures for the project’s execution, student worksheets, equipment requirements and practical activities are included in the package. You will need to purchase the original film or the original recording. As this soundtrack is no longer available in Australia in CD format, you may need to purchase the required tracks from iTunes. Best suited for Grades 6 – 8, however, can be done with an enthusiastic Grade 9.
