This resource contains lessons about Scales suitable for middle school students. Some of the lessons might be challenging for inexperienced Year 5 students. These lessons are designed to be individually included into existing programs rather than being taught as a whole unit on Scales. Previous knowledge of the Treble Clef, and the names of the notes is an advantage. This resource contains all teaching instructions and student handouts. It also comes with a double CD Pack—An Audio CD and A Data CD. The Data CD contains any Power Point Presentations used in the lessons. Each Power Point Presentation comes with sound effects and animations. It is the responsibility of the teacher to ensure all the sounds work well. Any sound not standard in PPT, I have included on the CD. Make sure if you copy the PPT that you also copy the additional audio files. Scales covered are Pentatonic, Major, Minor, Chromatic, Blues and Whole Tone.
